Schedule
This is the schedule of the Livestock Experience. We know how important scheduling can be and hope to stay on our proposed schedule. This experience goes at the pace of your child's comfort, you may choose to take a break at any time during this event.

Recommended parking is on 3rd street.
1. Check in 9:00-9:30 AM
During check in your child will meet their buddy. Your child may be paired with 1-2 buddies depending on their needs. They will get to know each other during this time to ensure that your child is comfortable with their buddy. Please use this time to also get to know your child's buddy and let them know any information you think might be helpful to your buddy.
A lanyard will be given to your buddy for them to wear containing important information including contact details, allergies or any other special needs that we need to be aware of.
2. Orientation 9:30- 9:45 AM
Orientation will help you navigate were you can find anything that you would possibly need during our Livestock Event. You will have to opportunity to meet our officers and learn more about Jessa's Barnyard Buddies.
3. Sessions 9:45-11:15 AM
There will be 6 sessions, each lasting 10 minutes. There will be a 5 minute transition time between sessions. *Goat and Lamb Showmanship highly recommended for everyone to attend. This will be the best way to find out what animal your child would like best. Each session is a challenge by choice activity and is done at your child's comfort, no session is mandatory.
4. Lunch 11:30 AM-12:30 PM
Lunch will be provided to each participant, buddy, and herdsman. Outside food is permitted. There will be food options for purchase, this is not a fair and there will not be a “fair food” court available. There will be a Taco Truck, Hot Dog Truck, and drink station "watering hole" available for food/drink purchase.
5. Showcase 12:30-2:00 PM
12:30-12:45 Introduction of Judges
12:45-1:00 Group 1 (5-8 year olds)
1:00-1:15 Group 2 (5-8 year olds)
1:15-1:30 Group 1 (9-13 year olds)
1:30-1:45 Group 2 (9-13 year olds)
1:45-2:00 Group 1 (14+ year olds)

6. Sale/Auction 3:00 PM
Sale/Auction will begin at 3:00 and will end when the final animal is sold.

Your child will have the opportunity to learn about livestock through our learning sessions with their buddy. They will get to learn what animal they prefer through our goat and lamb showmanship session. In our Animal Eats session they will get to learn about what livestock animals eat through instruction and sensory play. Our Livestock Fitting session will consist of shearing demonstrations from one of our “expert” demonstrators. We will also have several calming sessions such as Coloring and the opportunity to go and visit with our animals in our Petting Zoo.
